Alchymeia had the pleasure of performing as part of 4Culture's Touring Arts Roster Concert Series

May 3, 2012 - Alchymeia's Waldron School Workshop/Concert for Artist Trust

Once we got to Waldron (after various misadventures including missing our scheduled boat), it was a beautiful experience.  Nadia gave vocal workshops to the kids at the school and the performance was a smashing success!  Most of the population of the island (somewhere around 80 people) filled the main room of the old red school house (bell tower and all).  As Steve aptly put it, "We rallied our forces, and pulled through."  Afterwards the band gathered at our hosts' house (Jason and Alison), and feasted on pasta and red wine.  Both Alison and Jason are great musicians in their own right, and we all played music together into the wee hours. Jason joined us on jembe and Alison on vocals.   A few of my favorites from that evening were "Chan Chan," "Katie Cruel," and an Alison Post original, "Good Morning, Blue Sky."

April 17, 2012 - Alchymeia's Debut Album Available on CDBaby

Nov 5, 2011 - Alchymeia Successfully Raises over $5,000 on Kickstarter

Our thanks goes out to all those who donated to our Kickstarter Campaign!  Because of everyone's amazing generosity, we were able to surpass our fundraising goal of $5,000 and plan to release our album by the Spring!

Oct 18, 2011 - Alchymeia's Kickstarter CD Fundraising Campaign Launched

My Seattle-based band, Alchymeia was awarded a Jack Straw Residency to record an album.  We're almost done, but we need funds to manufacture the CD, so we're doing a kickstarter campaign.  We have until Nov. 5th to raise $5,000.  Here's how it works.  You pledge money (any amount!) If we receive $5,000 in pledges before Nov. 5th, you credit gets charged on Nov. 5th and we receive the funds.  If we raise less than $5,000 we get nothing and your credit card is not charged.  If we raise over $5,000, we receive that money and your credit card is charged on Nov. 5.

Please know we would LOVE to make more than $5,000, as kickstarter takes 5% of of the total raised and amazon takes 3-5% to cover fees.

I am asking you to please support this project.  Go to the following website:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/193395816/alchymeia-album

Pre-purchase our CD for $25.  We'll have the whole band sign it for you!

Thank you so much for helping us out on this!

Feb 25, 2011 - Alchymeia Accepts Jack Straw Fellowship ... New Album On the Way

Just yesterday my band 'Alchymeia' received a "Jack Straw" fellowship, which will provide us with 20 hours of free studio time to record a project of material that we have been arranging, composing, and performing for the past three years.  I'll be working with amazing folk singer and ethnomusicologist, Nadia Tarnawsky, in addition to some other great Seattle-based musicians.

This is a very exciting time for the band, especially as we're just getting off the ground here in Seattle.  Look for a recording within the next 12 months!
